CC Railroad

CC Railroad is the place where a quartet of singer-songwriters - Rich Boniface, Ryder Daniels, Cheryl Prashker and Carolann Solebello - team up to create instrument-switching, harmony-juggling modern folk with a splash of urban groove. These four diverse personalities met at a New York City open mic in the summer of 1999 and began collaborating on song after song, continually challenging one another to raise the bar.

Since then, CC Railroad has played in coffeehouses and listening rooms throughout the Eastern United States, trading songs and instruments with gleeful abandon while juggling lead and harmony vocals in a spirit of equanimity shared by few acts. Augmenting the customary guitars with mandolin, bass and a generous helping of world-beat percussion, CC Railroad wraps traditional North American folk forms in an energy that is unmistakably New York. Although they continue to write separately, the four members of CC Railroad are collectively amazed and inspired by such acts as Eddie From Ohio, Great Big Sea, CryCryCry and the immortal CSNY.

CC Railroad's first CD, Smile Whatever, was released on Elizabeth Records in December 2001. Tracks from the disc have been featured on such stations as WFDU (Teaneck, NJ), WRSU (New Brunswick, NJ), WKHS (Worton, MD), WXXE (Syracuse, NY), CKLN (Toronto, ON), WPEB (Philadelphia, PA) and on Cityfolk Sunday Breakfast with Christine Lavin at WFUV (Bronx, NY). CC Railroad has also appeared live in-studio with legendary folk deejay Gene Shay of WXPN (Philadelphia, PA).

CC Railroad has played in their hometown of New York City at Columbia University's legendary Postcrypt Coffeehouse, The Bitter End and Makor. On the road, CC Railroad has played The Minstrel Coffeehouse (NJ), Jammin' Java (VA), The Stone Pony (NJ), The Point (PA), Iota (VA) and Six String Cafe (NC).

CC Railroad's sophomore CD, Black Horse Motel, produced by Andy Fox and Denise O'Brien, was released in the spring of 2004.
