Born and bred in the city of New York, Carolann spent several years touring the nation as a professional theatre actor before finding her way back home as part of "folkabilly blues" duo Blind Diva (with singer/songwriter Hope Nunnery). Since striking out on her own in 1998, Carolann's distinctive brand of urban folk has been heard all over the Northeast as well as in such exotic locales as Florida and Kansas.

Among Carolann's proudest achievements are being chosen as a finalist in the 2001 Minnesota Folk Festival's New Folk Contest and having lived in every borough of New York City except Manhattan. At the moment, Carolann's borough of choice is Brooklyn which, as everyone knows, is where the world goes to hear excellent American folk music...

In addition to her work as a solo performer, Carolann is proud to be one-fourth of our own CC RAILROAD, one-third of RED MOLLY, a go-to bass player for a handful of New York City folksingers, and most of all, the founder and queen bee of Elizabeth Records.
